This application is usually used in long series runs where the tool wear has to be adjusted without the need of manual input or in critical applications where the tolerances are tight. The part is measured and checked against the given reference value and the offsets or origins can be modified accordingly. It can also be used for workpiece setup or orientation.
The probe setup is an option that can be fitted in all CMZ series. If you already have a CMZ lathe, this accessory can be retrofitted. If you want to install a probe in your own CMZ machine you can contact your local CMZ Service office for a quotation.
