DISCOVER THE MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THESE LATHES
The Mazak QUICK TURN 250 and the CMZ TA 30 are lathes intended for the same type of part, they can be described as competitors. Nevertheless, analysis of their features shows there are technical differences.
The Mazak QUICK TURN 250 is a flat bed lathe. There is a 60 degree angle between the spindle and the X axis. In contrast, the CMZ TA 30 is a flat bed lathe with a 90 degree angle between the spindle and the X axis.
The carriages of the Mazak QUICK TURN 250 rest on linear roller guides. The CMZ TA 30 is fitted with prismatic guides with metal on metal contact. That is to say, in the prismatic guides, a ground surface is permanently in contact with a hand scraped surface.
The spindle and sub-spindle in the CMZ TA 30 have more torque than the Mazak QUICK TURN 250. In addition the CMZ TA 30 has higher specifications in the turret: it reaches 12,000 rpm, 11 kW and 75 Nm.
As regards automation, with the CMZ TA 30 it is possible to automate part loading and unloading with the gantry loader. The Mazak QUICK TURN 250 does not have that option.
