DISCOVER THE MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THESE LATHES
The Mazak QUICK TURN 100 and the CMZ TA 15 are lathes intended for the same type of part, they can be described as competitors. Nevertheless, analysis of their features shows there are technical differences.
The Mazak QUICK TURN 100 is a flat bed lathe with a 60 degree angle between the spindle and the X axis. In contrast, the CMZ TA 15 is a flat bed lathe with a 90 degree angle between the spindle and the X axis.
The carriages of the Mazak QUICK TURN 100 rest on linear roller guides. In the CMZ TA 15, the carriages rest on prismatic guides with metal on metal contact. In the prismatic guides, a ground surface is permanently in contact with a hand scraped surface.
The spindle and the sub-spindle in the CMZ TA 15 have more torque than the Mazak QUICK TURN 100. The CMZ TA 15 also has greater milling capacity: the driven tool provides 12,000 rpm, 11.3 kW and 75 Nm, compared to 10,000 rpm, 5.5 kW and 30 Nm from the Mazak QUICK TURN 100.
As regards automation, with the CMZ TA 15 it is possible to automate part loading and unloading with the gantry loader. The Mazak QUICK TURN 100 does not have a Gantry Loader option.
