The CMZ TD 45 and the Puma 5100 are machines of equivalent size but with numerous differences in structure and features.
The prismatic guides on the CMZ TD 45 have metal on metal contact. Specifically, a ground surface is permanently in contact with a hand scraped surface. In contrast, on the Puma 5100 contact is between metal and turcite.
The CMZ TD 45 spindle is more powerful than the Puma 5100 spindle, in terms of power and torque rating. It also has greater milling capacity, because the driven tool provides more power and speed.
As regards the steady rest, the CMZ TD 45 has a servo steady rest and follower rest functionality. In contrast, the Puma 5100 does not permit synchronisation of the movement of the steady rest and the turret.
