The CMZ TD 45 and the Puma 4100 are machines of equivalent size but with numerous differences in structure and features.
The prismatic guides on the CMZ TD 45 have metal on metal contact. Specifically, a ground surface is permanently in contact with a hand scraped surface. In the Puma 4100 contact is between metal and turcite. The X, Y, Z travels on the CMZ TD 45 are slightly longer than on the Puma 4100 , and can therefore handle larger parts.
The CMZ TD 45 can be mounted with a turret with up to 16 positions, whereas the Puma 4100 has a maximum of 12 positions.
The CMZ TD 45 spindle is more powerful in terms of power and torque rating. It also has greater milling capacity, because the driven tool provides more power and speed.
As regards the steady rest, the CMZ TD 45 has a servo steady rest and functionality to synchronise the movement of the steady rest and the turret.
