The DMG Mori NLX 3000 and CMZ TD 35 machines have been designed for the same type of part, they can be described as competitors. Nevertheless, analysis of their features shows there are technical differences.
The CMZ TD 35 is a CNC lathe that can handle larger parts than the DMG NLX 3000 . In the CMZ TD 35 the turning diameter goes up to 550 mm and the X- and Y-axis travels are longer. This lathe is also more configurable: there are four Z-axis travels (800, 1350, 2200, 3300 mm) and multiple bar capacities (Ø52, Ø66, Ø82, Ø95, Ø102, Ø127, Ø180, Ø192).
Both the spindle and sub-spindle of the CMZ TD 35 are more powerful than those of the NLX 3000 in terms of power and torque rating.
The CMZ TD 35 has more milling capacity than the DMG Mori NLX 3000: the live tool drive produces 12,000 rpm and 11.3 kW, compared to 10,000 rpm and 5.5 kW.
