The DMG Mori NLX 2000 and CMZ TA-25 machines are intended for the same type of part, they can be described as competitors. Nevertheless, analysis of their features shows there are technical differences.
The CMZ TA-25 is a CNC lathe capable of handling larger parts than the DMG Mori NLX 2000. In the CMZ TA-25 the turning diameter goes up to 450 mm, and it has longer X- and Y-axis travels. There are also three different travels of the Z axis to choose from (400, 640 and 1100 mm)
The CMZ TA-25 has greater milling ability than the DMG Mori NLX 2000: the live tool drive produces 12,000 rpm and 11.3 kW, compared to 10,000 rpm and 5.5 kW for the NLX 2000.
With regard to automation, the CMZ TA-25 Gantry Loader has 3 axes whereas the NLX 2000 only moves on 2 axes. The TA Gantry can also handle larger workpieces.
