DISCOVER THE MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THESE LATHES
The DMG CTX alpha 500 and CMZ TA-25 machines have been designed for the same type of part, they can be described as competitors. Nevertheless, analysis of their features shows there are technical differences.
The CMZ TA-25 is a slant bed CNC lathe with prismatic guides. Whereas the CTX alpha 500 is a flat bed CNC lathe with linear ball guides.
The X, Y, Z travels in the TA-25 are longer than in the DMG Mori CTX alpha 500 and can therefore handle larger parts.
The TA-25 spindle is more powerful than the DMG CTX alpha 500 spindle in terms of power and torque rating. It also has a higher milling capacity: the live tool drive produces 12,000 rpm and 11.3 kW compared to the 5,000 rpm and 5.4 kW of the CTX alpha 500.
Automation is possible with the CMZ TA-25 through the Gantry Loader, but not with the DMG CTX alpha 500.
