At CMZ we have over 75 years of experience in the market. In a fast-changing sector like the machine tool sector, robustness, power and reliability are hugely important factors. For us, ensuring quality is key and that is why we produce more than 80% of the components for our lathes, committed to the philosophy of “in-house” production. To that end, we have 7 manufacturing plants of our own, 5 subsidiaries, an extensive distribution network in Europe, Turkey and the United States and a workforce of more than 500 people who enable us to deliver an average of 3 lathes per day.

Lathe assembly plant no. 1 and headquarters

LOGO CMZ

Our assembly plant CMZ ZALDIBAR is one of the most noteworthy facilities. It was built in 1960, and since then has been the headquarters for CMZ. The plant has been remodelled twice since then and currently provides a top-quality assembly unit with air-conditioned workshops to ensure the accuracy of the machines. Our headquarters and the technical assistance service are also based here. At Zaldibar we assemble machines in the TA and TTL series.

CMZ Zaldibar has:

  • 5,500 m2 air-conditioned facilities.
  • 150 m2 clean room for precision assembly.
  • Automatic warehouses for storing parts.
  • Paint room.
  • Parts cleaning area.
  • Separate area for loading and unloading parts and machines.

Lathe assembly plant no. 2

LOGO SEUNER

Our second assembly plant, SEUNER has over 10,000 m2 of facilities specially designed for assembling large lathes. The plant is fully air-conditioned and we assemble lathes in the TD and TTS series there.

Plant for machining small and medium-sized parts

LOGO NEOPREC

Our machining plant, NEOPREC has 8,000 m2 with air-conditioning. There we machine most of the components we use to manufacture our lathes. It was designed like a clean room: no columns, a traversable roof for distributing supplies to the machines and a 500 mm thick concrete floor. The floor does not permit temperature variations of more than 1ºC in 24 hours throughout the plant.

NEOPREC has:

  • 8,000 m2 of facilities with strict temperature control for housing machinery.
  • 800 m2 ISO 8 clean room where the three-dimensional machines and other measuring elements are located.
  • Automatic storage with capacity for 1,752 Euro pallets or big bags.
  • FMS with horizontal machining centres which work 24/7.
  • 5-Axis machining centres in robotic cells Each of these centres has an integrated 3D-measuring machine enabling highly accurate work 24/7. 100% of the parts are measured and the tool correctors are corrected online.
  • Surface grinders
  • Deburring and parts cleaning area.
  • Separate area for loading and unloading parts.

Turning and cylindrical grinding plant

LOGO PRECITOR

Our turning and cylindrical grinding plant, PRECITOR has an air-conditioned surface area of 2,000 m2. Like NEOPREC, this plant has been designed as a clean room. The equipment and characteristics of these plants are one of our strong points as machine tool manufacturers. That means it has a traversable roof from which supplies to the machines are distributed and it does not permit temperature variations of more than 1ºC in 24 hours throughout the plant.

PRECITOR has:

  • 2,000 m2 with strict temperature control for housing machinery.
  • 500 m2 ISO 8 clean room which houses the cylindrical grinders, three-dimensional machines and other measuring elements.
  • CMZ lathes, many of them automated with Gantry robots.
  • Automatic storage with capacity for 467 Euro pallets or big bags
  • Deburring and parts cleaning area.
  • Separate area for loading and unloading parts.

Sheet metal fabrication plant

LOGO CAFISUR

Our sheet metal fabrication plant, CAFISUR has a working surface area of 8,200 m2 on a 16,000 m2 plot. It is the only CMZ manufacturing plant that is not in the Basque Country. This plant is in the province of Cadiz, Spain where we find plenty of highly qualified labour due to the decline in the shipbuilding industry.

CAFISUR has:

  • 8,200 m2 with strict temperature control for housing machinery.
  • The plant has been built on a 16,000 m2 plot in the Tecnobahia Technology Park.
  • Laser cutting machines with automatic sheet storage.
  • Numerical control folding machines.
  • Welding machines.
  • Epoxy paint line.
  • Clean area, packing and delivery of parts.
  • Separate loading and unloading area.

Large parts machining plant

LOGO MECANINOR

Our large parts machining plant MECANINOR has 4,000 m2. It has travelling-column milling and bridge grinding machines where we machine benches and other large parts required for the production of lathes. The machines are installed in two foundation pits in a controlled temperature environment to ensure accuracy, especially of the grinding.

MECANINOR has:

  • 4,000 m2 with strict temperature control for housing machinery.
  • 200 m2 clean room which houses three-dimensional machines and other measuring elements.
  • Automatic storage with capacity for 467 Euro pallets or big bags.
  • Deburring and parts cleaning area.
  • Separate area for loading and unloading parts.

Electrical panel assembly plant

LOGO MEYDI

Our electrical panel assembly plant, MEYDI has 1,250 m2 of installations. Its large windows let in natural light and provide a pleasant space where the assemblers can concentrate on the scrupulous wiring and assembly of the electrical panels for our machines. This is a fundamental process for us.

MEYDI has:

  • 1,250 m2 of total space.
  • 800 m2 assembly room.
  • 450 m2 of storage.
  • 2 automatic warehouses, both 15 metres high.
  • Separate area for loading and unloading supplies and delivery of electrical cabinets.

At CMZ we want to ensure maximum quality in our products. Our philosophy is simple: we are committed to in-house production, European products and for integral control as lathe manufacturers. That is why we produce over 80% of the components for our lathes in-house at our own plants. Unlike other Asian giants, commercially, we make significant savings on import and export costs. And so we can use that margin to produce high quality components at a very competitive price. As we also specialise in each stage of the process, we have acquired the know-how that enables us to focus on the most important details and that is thanks to CMZ’s workforce of over 500 people.
